Emergency First Response Course with Go Aquatic at Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia is for anyone to learn how to handle emergency situation. It prepares you about steps to respond when faced with a medical emergency during a scuba diving trip also or in unexpected situation.
You and other course participants learn simple to follow steps for emergency care and practice applying skills in a non-stressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study manuals, videos and quick reference cards to enhance learning and allow you start learning right away.
After successful completion of your Emergency First Response course, you will receive your certification card sent to your email address by PADI.
The certification card is visual, real life proof that shows you are a certified medical emergency responder and able to respond to any kind of emergency situation.
During this course you will learn about the primary and secondary care of a patients life line. You will learn details about BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level, AED (automated external defibrillator), preventing and caring for shock, spinal injury management, use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk, basic first aid and first aid kit considerations. EFR follows the ABCABS protocol.
Emergency First Response course is open to all ages. There is no minimum requirement. As long as you have willingness to learn, you are welcomed to participate.
- 10:00 AM – Registration at Go Aquatic multimedia facility.
- 10:10 AM – Short briefing and start Watching Emergency First Response DVD video.
- 11:00 AM – Rest for about 5-10 minutes then continue.
- 12:00 PM – Lunch break for about 1 hour.
- 1:00 PM – Emergency scenario practice for primary care
- 2:00 PM – Start secondary care skill development.
- 3:30 PM – Exam.
- 4:00 PM – Certification.
- 4:15 PM – End of the course.
This is a one day course, and consists of the eight primary care course skills with two recommended optional skills, and four secondary care course skills.
