Diving sites in Kota Kinabalu are located within the area of Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, the official name for Kota Kinabalu marine park. This marine park consists of 5 main islands. They are Gaya island, Sapi island, Manukan island, Sulug island and finally Mamutik island.
Dive Sites At Gaya Island Kota Kinabalu
Gaya island is is the biggest island in Kota Kinabalu marine park and houses. It is also the closest island to Kota Kinabalu city center also the only island with the biggest population compared to other islands. There are 5 dive sites around Gaya Island, they are:
- Police Reef (5 to 30 meters)
- Agill’s Reef (12 to 24 meters)
- Base Camp (3 to 12 meters)
- Bulijong Reef (10 – 25 meters)
- Eel Garden (5 meters to 18 meters)
