Kota Kinabalu – basic background of Go Aquatic diving team. In this post we will introduce you to Go Aquatic team member. We all are local Sabahan and has been working in scuba diving Kota Kinabalu for more than 7 years, some has been working in 10 years.

Our team member introduction starts with…

Matt – He is a PADI MSDT also PADI Scuba Instructor. His job focuses more on management. He oversee our daily operation, schedule and bookings. During normal working hours, usually Matt will start working in our office then will go to Jesselton Point at evening time to help diving team.

Lily – focus on guiding leisure dive trip or fun dive trip around Kota Kinabalu marine park. Lily has been diving in this area for more than 5 years. She really knew the diving area very well and she dive there regularly with the team and with her customers. When not diving, Lily will help with administration and other things as required.

Zarul – professional PADI scuba instructor. Zarul focuses more on teaching. When not teaching he will guide leisure dive trip or doing equipment maintenance and cleaning in our equipment room. Zarul teach scuba diving courses in English and Malay.

Jeson – professional PADI scuba instructor. Previously, Jeson worked in Layang-Layang Resort as a PADI Divemaster before moving to Kota Kinabalu city to work as a PADI Scuba Instructor. He teaches scuba diving courses in English, Chinese also Malay.

Alwee – professional PADI scuba instructor. Alwee teaches PADI scuba diving courses in Chinese Mandarin, English and Malay. Known among his course students as funny, easy to get along and patient instructor.

Onn Onn – professional PADI scuba instructor. Onn Onn teaches PADI scuba diving courses in Chinese Mandari, Chinese Cantonese, English, Malay.

Shukree – also a professional PADI Scuba Instructor. Like Alwee, Shukree also teach scuba diving courses in Chinese Mandarin, English and Malay. Before joining the team, Shukree is our regular freelance scuba instructor, ready to give helping hand during our busy season.

Deen – First Boat Captain. He takes care of the “Aquaman” our catamaran boat. Deen certified in Emergency First Response including CPR and First Aid. He is also a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver. Our catamaran boat can bring maximum 22 passengers in a dive trip, including dive team and boat captain.

Garcia – Our second boat captain. He takes care of the “Princess Mera”, our longboat. Garcia also full trained in Emergency First Response including CPR and First Aid, as a requirement to become boat captain. He is also a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver just like Deen.

Shukry – our Webmaster, office guy and digital brain behind GoAquatic brand. He is in charge of our digital contents, social media updates, graphic designs and website contents. He specialized in search engine optimization and blog writing.

7 of our team members (Matt, Lily, Jeson, Alwee, Garcia, Deen, Shukry) started to know each other while working for Diverse Borneo during 2013-2016 tenure. Working with Diverse Borneo gave them valueable experience, teaching skill and good communication skill. Some said dont every forget where you came from. That is what we do!

When their job contract tenure with Diverse Borneo has ended, they joined Go Aquatic to form new diving team under new dive center. The rest, is history.

Why 11.11.2019 Date Is So Special To Us

Kota Kinabalu Diving – Our scuba diving trip to Kota Kinabalu marine park today is iconic. Let me tell you why. November is Go Aquatic’s birthday month.

We got 11 divers with us today. From that 11 divers, 2 are Discover Scuba Diving participants from Poland, 3 new PADI Advanced Open Water Course participants (2 from mainland China and 1 from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia), 2 new PADI Open Water Course participants (also from mainland China) and 3 divers doing leisure dive trip guided by Lily.

November also is a special month to Go Aquatic dive team. This is the month where we started this dive center exactly 3 years ago. Our focus in to enjoy scuba diving in Kota Kinabalu – teaching new diver and guiding certified diver.

We started as a 3-persons team. Our small team during that time consists of Matt, Lily, Zarul with 1 dive boat and only 1 captain to bring us to Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park for our daily dive trips.

Now in November 2019, we are 10-persons team. Recent team consists of Matt, Lily, Zarul, Jeson, Alwee, Onn Onn, Shukree, Din, Garsia and Shukry our office guy. The team grew as the company grew.

We started as entry level dive center. Today on 11.11.2019, we are PADI 5 Star Dive Center. We joined elite ranks of another 5 Star Dive Centers in Kota Kinabalu.

After that, PADI Regional Manager, Neil Davidson, awarded us with PADI Professional Image certification on March 2019. After that on May 2019 he has given us the “Outstanding Contribution To Entry Level” award, as we achived more than 1000++ entry level certification for new PADI Open water Divers on 2018.

How To Register For PADI Advanced Open Water Course – in this post we will explain how you can enroll into PADI Advanced Open Water Course in Kota Kinabalu with Go Aquatic dive team.

 

 

 

 

 

What Is PADI Advanced Open Water Course

 

PADI Advanced Open Water Course is next recommended scuba diving course after completing your Open Water Diver Course. You can enroll into Advanced Open Water Course after getting your Open Water license. With Open Water Diver certification,you are only allowed to dive only up to 18 meters deep.

But, after gaining your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification, you will be allowed to dive up to maximum depth of 30 meters.

The aim of Advanced Open Water Course is to make you able to learn additional skill and more diving knowledge than what you learned in PADI Open Water Course Kota Kinabalu.

 

Requirement For Advanced Open Water Course

 

1. Have Open Water Diver certification.

Or in another words, you must have a diving license before you can join PADI Advanced Open Water Course with Go Aquatic and with another PADI dive center in Kota Kinabalu Malaysia.

2. At least did 4 dives.

Before joining PADI Advanced Open Water Course, you must at least have 4 logged dives. This is to ensure you really did diving in the past during your Open Water Course. Normally if you joined Open Water Course previously, you will do 4 dives.

3. Physically Healthy.

Before starting your PADI Advanced Open Water Course, make sure you are totally healthy. If you are not healthy, you will not be able to dive properly. Scuba diving is an activity that involves risk. If you have any medical issues before starting your PADI Advanced Open Water Course, please let us know immediately.

4. At least 15 years old.

If you have Junior Open Water Diver certification you will have to wait until you reach 15 years of age before you can join PADI Advanced Open Water Course in Kota Kinabalu.

 

How To Register For Advanced Open Water Course

 

1. Contact Go Aquatic dive team via web form available in our “Contact U” page. We will reach you using email, WhatsApp, WeChat and normal phone call.

2. Visit as walk in customer to our dive center located in Lot G30, ground floor, Wisma Sabah, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. We are next to Suria Sabah shopping mall.

3. Contact Go Aquatic dive team via our official social media profiles such as Go Aquatic Facebook Page. You can also contact us via Go Aquatic Instagram profile

4. Set the date and we will process your booking. Minimum number of participant for Advanced Open Water Course is 1 person. There is nor maximum number of participants for every booking.

5. We also didn’t charge any tax other that price for your Advanced Open Water Course.

6. Payment for your booking will be completed during registration in Go Aquatic dive center. All payment will be in Malaysian Ringgit currency ( MYR). You can pay in cash, using credit card, debit card, AliPay or WeChat Pay.

How To Find Go Aquatic And How To Reach Our Physical Location – Today in this post we gonna explain how you can reach Go Aquatic location. If you are searching for Go Aquatic in Google search engine, you will see that our physical location is at LOT G30, Ground Floor, Wisma Sabah, Jalan Haji Saman, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

We are located in Kota Kinabalu city center. The building we are in called “Wisma Sabah”.

On 2019, Wisma Sabah building painted in orange color and highly visible from nearby location. Previously, this building has been painted with color, but changed to bright orange to attract visitor. Wisma Sabah has been famous as Kota Kinabalu tourism hub.

How To Reach Go Aquatic From Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA)

If you want to reach to Go Aquatic dive center from Kota Kinabalu international airport, your travel time will be about 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic condition. Your ride from the airport will be a smooth one if you take your ride between 9 AM to 11:30 AM (on Monday to Friday) and between 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

However, traffic in main road will be highly packed during peak hours – 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. It might takes about 15 minutes for you to reach our location if you happen to take your ride during this hour. Use Google Map screen shot below for your reference. We suggest you open Google Map in your mobile device right now and start searching for “Go Aquatic” to see the result for yourself.

Kota Kinabalu Diving - Go Aquatic Location From Kota Kinabalu International Airport

There are variety of ways you can use to reach Go Aquatic physical location. If you refer to map image above, you can reach Go Aquatic by following 3 different route. First, you can reach us via via Jalan Kepayan and Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (estimated time about 16 minutes).

Second, you can reach us via Jalan Kepayan. Your travel route will pass Taman Sempelang, Grace Court apartment, Grace Garden, Sutera Harbour Resort, Imago Shopping mall, Kota Kinabalu Waterfront, Anjung Senja, Sinsuran Night Market, I Love KK monument, Todak Waterfront.

Third, you can take Coastal Road. You will go straight to Api-api Center, finally straight to Wisma Sabah where Go Aquatic main office located. Most our dive guests who booked for Kota Kinabalu diving trip can reach easily for early registration before starting their dive on following day.
